At what time is the best times times for black friday? and what stores will have sales???It's hard to answer this question without knowing where you live. I grew up in Kentucky and at the stores there the shoppers are brutal. The first time I went out for black friday, I arrived at 4:00 in the morning (the sales started at 5:00.) There were already 200 people (at least) in front of me. The next year I said "Fine...I'm going out at 3:00.." There were no less than 150 in front of me. Every year, same thing. I went one year at 2:00 but it was miserable. For 4 straight years I didn't even bother with it.
I moved to western Tennessee in recent years and last year decided to give black Friday another shot. I headed out at 3:00...knowing what it was like in previous years. There were 2 people there. Seriously just TWO. By 5:00, there were around 400 but no one even starting showing up until 4:15-4:30. Obviously the best times to go depends on your area (and probably the economy too.)
I noticed that Old Navy has some really good sales and you get an MP3 player if you spend 20 bucks...if you like Old Navy you might want to check it out.
Here's a site with most of the black Friday sales: http://www.blackfriday.info/black friday is called black friday because it is HELL. you have to wake up at the crack of dawn with your family because stores will probably open early and then you run around buying up all the sale items. if it's a department store they will have mega sales and so will places like target and wal mart. make sure you have lots of gas and wear comfortable shoes. lines will be long and traffic will be crazy.
i work at a target starbucks in tennessee and we had to double stock everything in preperation. we also had nine people on duty and made coffee two hours early and served the people waiting to get in the store short sizes. target opens at 8am btw so you need to be up at 6 and ready to go by 7. read the sales papers before hand and know exactly what you want.
good luck and god be with you haha.
also pay attention to what time it is because you need to avoid rush hour at all costs. and don't forget to have at least one shopping accomplace so you can divide and conquer. don't forget to charge you cell too.AH! favorite day of the year for me... get there EARLY some stores open at 5 so get there at 4 if you want big ticket items (tv, laptop, cameras, anything thats price is dramatically reduced) you can get there at 4:30 for the smaller stuff like DVD sets etc.. Really the rule of thumb is get there an hour early... and wait for the doors to open. Have a plan too... bring a friend an have them wait in line while you and others track down items... if anything is in bins and you can't find DIG... I almost always can't see the item I was looking for and then find it at the bottom of the bin. Almost all the stores have sales you just gotta check the adsIt depends on what stores you plan on visiting. I know that the best buy by me lines begin as soon as 2am. I would check your local sunday paper for the ads. Have fun, get lots of coffee, and catch a nap when you can.Not because I work at target, but I may say that for the past six years that Ive worked there Ive always bought stuff ther. If you even go to the clerance section you will find great items as I say there is always new inventory and usualy people tend to go for the new inventory. WHile the past inventory is set in the clerance section. Try target, there is great stuff such as Merona and so on. Good quality... The best time to go shopping is as early as possible, each store carries such amount of items. But always think this way, have your adds in hand as some stores dont update the system and prices at times are not set to the two day sale. Good tip, usually movies go on sale, best time to buy dvds. Good luck, shop early and i know its hard because everyone is wyld...it really depends on what store.
last black friday, my friends and i were in front of best buys at 3pm thanksgiving day. we were about the 30th people in line. if you think we were crazy, the people who were first in line were there since 7am thanksgiving morning.
i'm pretty sure shopping center and mall shoppers aren't that crazy so i would say two or three hours before they open.
all stores have DECENT sales. their marketing tactic is to to raise the original price and mark off about 10-20%. you really only end up saving less than 20 bucks.
good luck! my advice is to layer! socks, jackets, everything. it'll be damn cold! Try and go as early as you can. Alot of stores will only have a limited quantity of certain items. Some stores such as Circuit City are have an online sale on Thanksgiving to lure in shoppers.
Most major stores will have sales such as Best Buy, Circuit City, Toys R Us, Wal- Mart, etc.
My advice is to try and beat the morning rush!#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
