What exactly is a liberal?
Basically, a liberal's belief focus's greatly on individual liberties and extending civil rights to everyone. Liberals don't bring religion into the equation.
Conservatives are the exact opposite. They support the belief that "if it's new or makes you uneasy, you probably shouldn't support it!". Why do you think it took so long for slavery to be abolished or for women to get the right to vote?
Famous liberals include JFK, FDR, Thomas Jefferson, and Bill Clinton.
Conservatives are the opposing belief. They are pro-business, pro-government, supportive of gun rights, pro-life.
Both liberals and conservatives have been known for radicilism. Adolf Hitler was a radical conservative, Huey Long was a radical liberal.
A liberal is one who will make excuses for the violent actions of the religion of peace and it's terrorist behaviors and also say that the Americans brought it on themselves. A liberal will attempt to stifle the opinoins of anyone who does not agree with their politics. A liberal is one who derives their opinions and beliefs from MTV, CNN or Air America. This is getting tiring because I could go on for hours listing what a liberal is.
Basically anyone who isn't a stupid Nazi might be described as liberal. Look around. Educated people mostly lean to the left while the dumb ignorant bible thumping red necks are mostly right winger Nazi's. Go figure...
A "conservative" is a person who prefers to be told what they think/believe.
A liberal is someone who looks at the wrongs, injustice and problems of society and wants to fix them by use of government. A liberal says "There ought to be a law" when they see something they think is wrong and make it a cause or agenda to do something about it.
A conservative is someone who values freedom above all things else. The conservative looks at the wrongs, injustice and problems of society and thinks that the world is cruel and its up to himself/herself to make a difference and feels that government can not be trusted to fix anything because they take away freedom and create more problems than they solve. The conservative says "That's a shame that things are this way" when they see something wrong and believes that if you want to change the world, look in mirror and start there.

YOU KNOW YOUâ ™RE A LIBERAL if your idea of supporting our troops in Iraq is by cutting their funding, giving our enemies a time table, and insisting on retreat because the troops you claim to support arenâ ™t doing a good enough job of winning the war fast enough for you.
YOU KNOW YOUâ ™RE A LIBERAL IF you think cops are pigs and criminals are products of their environment.
YOU KNOW YOUâ ™RE A LIBERAL IF you believe corporate profits are obscene, that the American people are under taxed, and that deficits are caused by tax loopholes.
YOU KNOW YOUâ ™RE A LIBERAL IF You think marriage is obsoleteâ ”except for homosexuals.
YOU KNOW YOUâ ™RE A LIBERAL IF You want to bring our troops home from Iraq before their mission is complete, but believe 25,000 U.S. troops STILL in Bosnia after 10 years is vital to our national interests.
YOU KNOW YOUâ ™RE A LIBERAL IF you think that Rob Reiner, Martin Sheen, Alec Baldwin, and Barbara Streisand are voices that the American people NEED to hear, but that Ronald Reagan should never have been elected president because he used to be an actor.
A liberal is someone that is so open minded that they will not take their own side in an argument.
Another possible way to look at it is:
A liberal tends to work in a world the way it should be, whereas a conservative works in a world the way it is.
Liberal tend to think that people should recycle, buy hybrid cars, save the forests, be tolerant of those that are different, etc... And, they base their political and economic policies on that.
Conservatives recognize that people are not going to recycle anywhere near as much as they could, nor are they going to purchase products made out of recycled materials unless those items are priced lower. The conservatives recognize that people are not going to buy hybrids unless they are better performing and cheaper then conventional cars.
Apply the same thought process to almost every issue. What should happen, versus what will probably happen. Almost always, you will find the liberal making decisions because something should happen.
They want someone other than themselves (e.g., the government), to be responsible for all of their wants and needs, and are willing to give all of their earnings to such someone in order to forego their own responsibility.
If necessary to find their master, they will force all non-liberals to become slaves also.
A conservative is against abortion.
