I've just finished an appropriation of 'Christina's World' by Adrew Wyeth where the figure is slumped on the footpath of a street leading up to the distant house. She is in front of an empty car park with a dumpster and a gratified wall. The idea is that in the original the figure is determined and doesn't want any help - her solitude is self-inflicted, but in mine, she is desperate and seeks inclusion - she has been outcast. This deals with the transition from the highly sought after independence of women in the 40's (when the original was painted) and the desperate need for inclusion and uniformity in today's world. I'm stuck for a title - any ideas? preferably something that is a play-on the original title.Plays on the original title:
-Through the Looking Glass: Christina's World
-Christina's New World
-Dlrow Sanitsirhc (the original title backwards)
Other Titles:
-Christina wants in
