I would like to know the song & singer for the movie "The Truth About
Charlie" which played during the final credits. I do not believe it is
listed on the tracks available on the CD for the movie.
Finally, would this song be available on any CD?
Thank YouI don't think this will make any difference, but I thought I should
mention that my tape of "The Truth About Charlie" was made from the
Starz Love Stories cable channel on December 19th.I greatly appreciate the quality and reach of the answer provided. Not
only was my question answered specifically and in detail, I was also
provided with many links to further embelish the answer.
Most importantly the Researcher was patient with my several
"clarifications" and responded each time with more information.
A very positive and enjoyable learning experience.
Thank You
Mhello again,
I truely appreciate all the time and trouble that you have spent in
responding to my question, especially as I have clarified it in
creeping bits and pieces.
Yes the Charles Aznavour song is lovely, and it certainly appears at
the beginning of the final credits.....but...(sigh)....the song I
believe I heard was sung in English, not the lyrcial French. Can you
"see" if there is a song before the first three you mentioned in your
first response) and after the Aznavour?
If this proves to still be elusive, I will gratefully, and gracefully
bow out (faulty memory and all) and thank you for an exceptionally
well documented answer.
Sincerely
M.I have found this fairly listenable MIDI file of "Quand Tu M'Aimes"
that may refresh your mind regarding the melody:

The lyrics in English, as sung by Charles Aznavour in "The Truth About Charlie":
It's the devil and hell
Sharing games that we play
But it's heaven as well
that the Gods send our way
When you love me
An eclipse of the moon
As we storm on the sands
It's the wild ocean spume
Come to die in your hands
When you love meThank you for the kind words, the five stars, and the very generous tip!
~pinkfreudAh, I see. This is one of those movies in which it's a bit hard to
define exactly where the end credits start. The last scene of the
movie has a few credits in it, and as the lovers embrace, Charles
Aznavour wanders by, singing a song. The camera pans up the Eiffel
Tower.
It's quite understandable that Charles Aznavour reminded you of
Sinatra. In fact, Aznavour has often been called "The Frank Sinatra of
France." The song (written by Aznavour) is "Quand Tu M'aimes" ("When
You Love Me"). Here you'll find both English and French lyrics to the
song:

"The legendary Charles Aznavour?s cameo brightens things up
considerably. Listening to Aznavour sing 'When You Love Me,' his
latest romantic ballad, almost makes up for the missing strains of
Henry Mancini?s haunting Charade background score."

"Charles Aznavour also sings 'When You Love Me,' one of his most
recent heart-bending ballads."

Best regards,
pinkfreudI went back to my videotape of "The Truth About Charlie," and there
are portions of three songs played during the closing credits. First
is a French ballad sung by a woman, then a rather "new age" sort of
song (also sung by a woman), then a rhythmic, African-sounding song.
Which one are you interested in?I have again viewed the credits to "The Truth About Charlie." There is
no song between the Aznavour song (which Aznavour sings in English on
the soundtrack) and the French ballad sung by a woman that I mentioned
earlier. I truly believe you are remembering Aznavour. When he sings
in English, he is very Sinatra-like.
You'll find a complete list of the music credits from the film here:
Internet Movie Database: The Truth About Charlie

I did not watch "The Truth about Charlie" on video/DVD. I saw it on
cable, and I do realise that this should make no difference. However,
the song I believe I heard was in the very beginning of the final
credits and was a modern interpretation of a Frank Sinatra cover, sung
by a male. Robbie Williams??
I am very sorry for being so vague. I was up and about while the
credits rolled but I came back as soon as I heard this number. I
looked for some reference/credit, but found none.
The mystery deepens.....#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
