The technical term for the fluid is serosanguineous. It is a composition of blood and serum. That is not unusual for an amputation this recent. The thing that you must do is continue to wear the stump shrinkers to help shape the residual limb. Also make sure that you stretch out the knees as straight as possible. Not to do this will make your physical therapy more painful and difficult for you to learn to walk. Hopefully they are using whirlpools to help clean out the wound sites. Keep your spirits up as before long you will be up and walking around. The prosthetic devices that are used today are so much more normal in their appearance and performance. Talk to the therapy staff as soon as you get a chance and ask for their help with the wound care and residual limp shaping. Good luck!check out web md.com it has a lot of great advice on treating different symptoms and conditionsas long as it is not bloody,pu$$y (no to the dirty minded people this is exactly how it is written in medical terminology, look it up) which is oozing pus or you see streaks of red lines away from the wounds as these are signs of infection and pain of course, the fluid you are talking about is really clear, the WBC's makes the fluid appear to be yellow. Good Luck in ur PT and God Bless you.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
