I am writing a story (might become more not sure yet) and after searching through all sorts of different maps I could not find the type of town I was looking for to be the setting of the story. So I decided that I was just going to make up a place that way I can do whatever the heck I want.
I don t want the town to be one of those small towns where everyone knows everyone . I want it to be big enough for some variety but not enough to be called a city , but I want there to be more than one high school.
My question is this: What size population would be acceptable population that would fit this description?
Any help, comments, suggestions etc. would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
I think a town just under 10,000 ( any above this is a city ) would fit the bill. Not a company town, say part secret military base, local yokels who work there in gov't support jobs and say foresty. There could be a Highschool in the base for military brats and one in the hick town. But this town could be close enough to drive there in a few hours to a large city of arround 250,000 where the 'country folk' can escape to for some shenanigans once in awhile.About 40,000. I can think of a few towns that size. Even a mountain town that shall remain nameless.Rossland, BC, Canada#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
